Campaigning on Sunday, the Abundant Living Faith Center

Campaign Update: On Sunday, January 6, 2008, I attended the 11:00 a.m. service at the Abundant Living Faith Center and as had been pre-arranged, Pastor Charles Nieman and his wife Rochelle Nieman introduced me to the congregation and invited their members to ask me questions after the service.
I want to thank Pastor and Mrs. Nieman for their incredible generosity in introducing me no less than three times during the service to the congregation. It should not go unnoted that I have never attended their Church before. Despite the fact that I was a complete outsider who was there to garner votes, they displayed a warmth and hospitality toward me that will not be forgotten.

Pastor Nieman gave a powerful sermon on the importance of “building.” He spoke on how if one builds one’s family, one’s health, one’s career, etc., the building will in the end result in success. I thought his speech was very apropos of what I am trying to do in my campaign and what we are trying to do here in El Paso. By my working hard and your supporting me, we are building toward change and good. If we stop building and give up because it seems to hard then we will fail.

After the service, I greeted a long line of people who came to me and offered me their support. Pastor Nieman’s congregation is numbered at 15,000 and in attendance that day were at least several thousand. It was a great campaign experience.

Please continue to spread the word. I am available to meet with your civic group/church/synagogue/mosque. It was through a supporter that I was set up to appear at the Abundant Living Faith Center. If you have any ideas please call 241-8418.
